D.C. Cook Unit 2 - Steam Generator Inspection in the Upcoming Outage Randy:
I have been asked by Martin Murphy of our SG Tube Integrity & Chemical Engineering Branch (CSGB) to convey the following message to you:
As you are probably aware, CSGB personnel participate in conference calls with a handful of licensees performing steam generator inspections every outage season. CSGB personnel have determined that they do not need to talk with Cook Unit 2 during its upcoming outage.
However, CSGB would appreciate being notified if one of the circumstances identified below is identified by the licensee during the outage:
- 1. If a tube fails an in-situ pressure test, or if an in-situ pressure test cannot be completed due to limited pump capacity.
- 2. If a new degradation mechanism, new to Cook Unit 2, is identified.
- 3. If degradation is more severe than expected, or a larger number of tubes are degraded/defective, than expected.
Based on feedback from the licensee we will determine whether a conference call is desired after all.
