Gene, Kemal and I talked this afternoon about the plan with respect to the SE. He said that EMEB would try to get the SE, with open Items, to me by 9130. We will try to resolve the open items by our typical means (conference calls, RAIs, meetings, audits) as deemed necessary. After the licensee submits Information to resolve the open items, we will revise the draft SE. If you can get the SE changes to me by about 1 0/1 9, I can incorporate them Into the SE before the draft goes to ACRS (draft due to ACRS 10/21). If it is after that point, we will have to coordinate with ACRS to see if they are willing to take the SE with open items. It's possible they would be willing to do that if we get all the Issues resolved prior to the second subcommittee meeeting (the 1st Is scheduled for 11/15-11/16 and the second for 11130-12/1). I left a message for Ralph Caruso to discuss this Issue. Note, the above dates are assuming all the other issues are resolved In the next few weeks.

This morning a discussion was held between DLPM, DE, and DSSA staff concerning the current status of the Vermont Yankee EPU review. The following Is a brief summary of the path going forward to resolve the primary issues affecting the EPU review schedule:

1) GE Methods Issue - Entergy plans to provide two additional supplements (forecast for September 16 and 23, 2005) to address the remaining open RAI questions. Another meeting on the GE methods Issue is tentatively scheduled for September 21, 2005, to ensure the information supporting the final supplement

2) Steam Dryer Analysis - The staff, and several contractors, are currently reviewing Supplement 33 dated September 14, 2005, which contains a large amount of information that the licensee submitted in response to issues raised during the recent audits. The staff mill complete its draft SE input based on the information we currently have, and will leave open items In the SE for areas that may require further information from the licensee. The draft SE will be revised after the open items are resolved.

3) Transient Testing - The licensee's current response in Supplement 32 dated September 10, 2005. to

This Information was conveyed to the licensee In a conference call on Se B. 2005.
