Please note that we are reviewing the subject submittal, dated 12/20/05, under TAC MC9804.
Our reviewer, Clayton (Larry) Pittiglio, has identified the need for some clarification or additional information to complete this review. Please call me to set up a conference call to disposition the issues described in the next 2 paragraphs.
You estimated the total spent fuel cost at $188.9 million. The spent fuel storage cost includes an estimated $9.9 million to isolate the spent fuel pool and an annual cost of approximately $6.0 million to maintain the fuel in the ISFSI from 2020 through the year 2039. The cost estimate also includes an estimate to load and transfer the spent fuel canisters to the ISFSI. You need to define that cost and when it occurs, as well as the annual cost to maintain the spent fuel in wet storage.
You need to define the start and the completion of the construction of the ISFSI, as well the cost to construct the ISFSI. In addition, you need to define the basis for the additional $10.0 million expenditure in 2039, and if it includes the estimated $5.5 million cost to remove the ISFSI. What is the break out of the $5.5 million ISFSI expenditure?
