Our reviewer Tom McLellan has the following question/comment which we would like to discuss with you in a conference call. Please call me to set it up.
In the "basis for use" you referenced EPRI Report IR-2004-63 "Monticello Nozzle Inner Radius and Nozzle-to-Shell Weld Examinations" by defining the scan parameters for each nozzle configuration. As a reminder, the basis for each request for relief is to stand alone on its own merit. This includes the examination requirements such as the scan parameters and as to why they are impractical to perform. Please provide either a description of the scan parameters contained in the EPRI Report IR-2004-63 or provide copies of the pertainment sections of the subject report.
This e-mail aims solely to prepare you and others for the requested conference call. It does not convey a formal NRC staff position, nor does it formally request for information.
