OF THE DECEMBER 1, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE RESULTS OF THE LICENSE RENEWAL INSPECTION
Dear Mr. Harden:
On December 1, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at Lake Michigan College in South Haven, Michigan. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of a recent license renewal inspection completed at the Palisades facility. The meeting request letter and meeting notice can be found in ADAMS as ML053180535 and ML053180497, respectively. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants is enclosed.
Several members of the public were also present.
The inspectors concluded that there was reasonable assurance that the appropriate systems, structures, and components, were identified as being within scope of the license renewal efforts, and that the aging management programs were sufficient to address aging effects for those systems, structures, and components. The presentation slides are also enclosed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
