MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNIT 3 WITHDRAWAL OF 10 CFR 50.55a REQUEST IR-2-37, IN SERVICE WATER SYSTEM DRAIN LINE TEMPORARY NON-CODE REPAIR OF A BRAZED JOINT In a letter dated May 9, 2005, Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC) requested relief from the Section XI requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Millstone Power Station Unit 3 (MPS3), pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(5)(iii).
This request was based on the impracticality of performing ASME Code repairs to a brazed joint on a 3-inch drain line from the A train service water header during plant operation.
During the recent refueling outage for MPS3 completed on October 27, 2005, DNC completed repairs to the 3-inch drain line of the A train service water header.
Therefore, DNC is withdrawing its relief request IR-2-37.
