NOTIFICATION OF AN NRC SUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION
05000373/2006002; 05000374/2006002(DRS)
Dear Ms. Landahl:
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
(NRC), Region III staff will conduct a supplemental inspection at the LaSalle County Station
during the period of January 3 - 6, 2006. The inspection will be conducted by a reactor
engineer from the NRC Region III Office.
The inspection will be conducted in accordance with Inspection Procedure (IP) 95001, the
NRCs supplemental inspection procedure for one or two white findings in a strategic
performance area. This supplemental inspection will involve an inspection of the adequacy of
corrective actions relating to the White inspection finding involving the Single Point Vulnerability
(SPV) issue of the common 4.16 kV relay and metering circuit.
We request that during the onsite inspection week you ensure that all applicable information
regarding this finding including the root cause evaluation, modification, pertinent drawings, and
10 CFR 50.59 evaluation will be readily accessible.
On December 5, 2005, the NRC staff was informed that sufficient implementation of corrective
actions existed to support the NRCs supplemental inspection. The scheduling of this
inspection was discussed with Mr. Daniel Enright. Your cooperation and support during this
inspection will be appreciated. If you have questions concerning this inspection, please contact
