Using RG 1.174 Martin Stutzke Mark Rubin; Michael Tschiltz 10114105 12:01PM Vermont Yankee EPU - Licensee's Evaluation of Containment Overpressure Credit The staff had a telecon with the licensee on October 13, 2005 to discuss the status of their evaluation of the containment overpressure credit using RG 1.174. I call your attention to the following items:

1) At the start of the telecon, the licensee stated that they planned to submit their evaluation on October 21, 2005. As the telecon was winding up, they Indicated that they may need to revise this submittal date since the staff expected more Information than the licensee had originally planned to provide.

2) I reviewed with the licensee the requirements In RG 1.174 and SRP Chapter 19, emphasizing ti very Imnortant for them to address each of the five key nrincintes of risk-Informed decisionmaking-I told them that their risk evaluation needs to Include a parametnc uncertainty analysis and s modeling uncertainties (e.g., human reliability) using sensitivity analyses. We also discussed various details of the risk evaluation (e.g., sources of data used to quantify the PRA models, etc.).
