VY 50.72 update on fuel Region I faxed a copy of an update to the Vermont Yankee 50.72 (originally reported on 4/21) regarding the two spent fuel rod pieces that are unaccounted for. The update provides the latest status of the search and states that "the visual inspection of the pool is essentially completed." Per Don Florek, we expect Entergy to file another update to the 50.72 tomorrow or Friday based on the timeframe the licensee estimates that the visual search will be declared to be complete. At that time, it is expected that the 50.72 will say the fuel is missing rather than just unaccounted for.
