re: Vermont Yankee decommissioning cost estimates Dave, Until several years ago, nuclear plants were only required to submit decommissioning cost information every few years. As such, I have had some difficulty going back nine years, as you requested. I will keep searching.

In the meantime, I'll provide you with the following information I was able to secure in update letters from the plant's owner(s) to the NRC:

In a letter dated 3/29/00:

Estimated decommissioning funds requirement (per NRC regulations): $329.4 million FERC-approved decommissioning estimate: $428.7 million Decommissioning funds collected as of 12/31199: $247 million In a letter dated 3/28/01:

Estimated decommissioning funds requirement (per NRC regulations): $369.5 million FERC-approved decommissioning estimate: $451.9 million Decommissioning funds collected as of 12/31/00: $281.7 million In a letter dated 3/21/02:

Estimated decommissioning funds requirement (per NRC regulations): $371.6 million FERC-approved decommissioning estimate: $471.1 million Decommissioning funds collected as of 12/31/99: $297.1 million In a letter dated 3/31/03:
