- Carolyn, Here are answers to your questions:
1.) Cliff Anderson was at the meeting on 3/31. He is the branch chief in the Region I Division of Reactor Projects responsible for overseeing inspections at Vermont Yankee, among other plants.
2.) The 3/31 meeting was transcribed. Numerous issues and concerns were raised at the meeting that the NRC staff committed to responding to. The NRC staff is still in the process of doing that.
3.) There will be a public meeting between the ACRS and the NRC staff regarding the draft safety evaluation for the proposed Vermont Yankee power uprate. That evaluation is still being worked on, therefore no meeting has been scheduled thus far. Once one is scheduled, it will take place at NRC Headquarters in Rockville, Md.
4.) We have one specialist inspector at the plant now and will supplement that special inspection as needed. I would also point out that our Resident Inspectors at Vermont Yankee are assisting with the effort. The specialist inspector is ensuring that Entergy is being as thorough as possible in trying to determine the whereabouts of the missing fuel segments. There is no firm estimate at this point as to how long any NRC specialist inspectors might be at the site.
