According to the licensee, the picture is of a TYPICAL container as supplied to VY. The picture is NOT the actual container in the VY SFP. The licensee obtained the pictures when they visited GE Vallecitos during the week of June 28. The picture helped them to understand what to look for, and prompted them to take another look in the pool/review the videotapes of past inspections. This was discussed at their routine daily 4pm meeting on Tuesday, along with the other results of their trip to Vallecitos.
The container appears like the same material as the rack and the wall it is resting on/against - shiny metal. It is not obvious it is a container unless you are sensitized of what to look for.

Note....l am just clarifying this Subject line.
Are the attached pics of the ACTUAL storage container that is in the VY SFP?
(It is my current understanding that these pictures were obtained from GE during the ongoing records review...please clarify if these pics are of the container as built for use at VY)
The residents state that a container like this is resting horizontally in a rack on/or near the fuel prep machine....making it very hard to discern that the container is even there on a visual look.
I have not copied these pics to anyone at HQ yet...l plan to - on a limited distribution - once we obtain more information.
