Re VY Governor letter I talked to Bill Sherman, and Bob Bores and I talked to Dave O'Brien this morning regarding the Governor's letter.
WRT to the request for briefings, they proposed that Sherman would email O'Brien (Dept of Public Service) daily w/cc to Jacobson on inspection status. Each Friday, Sherman would brief O'Brien and Sleeper (Dept of Public Safety) by phone, summarizing the weeks activities. I assume Jeff would listen to these briefings. O'Brien also proposed one VSNAP meeting (public) near the site to be briefed on the inspection approach/procedure, hear what systems were looked at and why, and meet the inspection team (ie discuss experience/qualifications). Results of the inspection would not be discussed.
Tentatively this would be Sept 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
O'Brien reiterated the request for "certification" that the inspectors have no conflicts of interest, as well as their strong desire for an entension to file for a hearing.
I'm interested in any comments on the wbriefings" proposal noted above.
