Jun 25, 2004 9:55 AM Salem/Hope Creek - - more correspondensce from UCS I am now getting a steady stream of correspondence from UCS, increasingly strident and sarcastic, pushing for S/D of Salem/Hope Creek.
The latest UCS letter highlights striking similarities between a PSEG presentation in dec 1995 to the June 2004 (i.e., last week's) PSEG presentation.
I think Dave lochbaumknows, but for whatever reason is not acknowledging in his letters, that these overall big-picture programmatictleadership issues are likely to be substantially similar any time any plant's performance slips or stalls.
PSEG's progress clearly stalled in the last few years and NRC has been dealing with it proactively. But the very detailed PSEG assessments, totalling about 200 pages of gory detail on the docket, provide much fodder for our critics.
We are creating R1 action items to track the responses to all these letters.
