3-week e-mail for 01 Case 1-2002-042 (Salem)
Place:
OEMAIL On November 13, 2002, 01 Region I initiated case #1-2002-042, to determine whether a contract maintenance technician at Salem was discriminated against by Day & Zimmerman (DZNPS), the licensee's contracted maintenance company, for having raised concerns regarding potentially faulty bolts used to support cable trays.
Based on the evidence developed during this investigation, 01 did not substantiate that the maintenance technician had been discriminated against by DZNPS for engaging in protected activities. 01 determined that DZNPS had valid, non-discriminatory reasons, primarily work performance and attendance issues, for terminating the alleger's employment The 01 report was distributed to the staff on July 2, 2003. An Allegation Review Board (ARB) was held on August 6, 2003, to discuss the matter. The ARB agreed with the conclusions of the 01 case and directed that this matter be closed, pending any further comments. If no other views are received within 3 weeks of the date of this e-mail, a closure letter will be sent to the alleger and a letter will be sent to the licensee, both of which will include a copy of the synopsis of 01 case #1-2002-042.
