MPC&D 05-088 August 17, 2005 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn.: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 Docket No. 50-312 Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station License No. DPR-54 COMPARISON OF DOSE IMPACTS FROM ALTERNATIVE EXPOSURE SCENARIOS Attention: John Hickman Attached is a copy of Decommissioning Technical Basis Document DTBD-05-001 "Comparison of Dose Impacts from Alternative Exposure Scenarios," Revision 0. The purpose of this DTBD is to evaluate the dose impacts of alternative exposure scenarios compared to the exposure from the industrial worker scenario.

Although we consider the industrial worker scenario to be the most likely scenario for Rancho Seco, and will use this scenario in the development of our License Termination Plan, we developed this DTBD to evaluate the following:

1. The dose impact using a resident farmer scenario at specified times following license termination (partial site release).
2. The dose impact of maintaining an Industrial Area but allowing cattle grazing within impacted areas outside the Industrial Area and consumption of meat from the grazing cattle by an offsite member of the public.

As they become available, we will submit additional DTBDs in anticipation that the review of these documents will facilitate NRC review and approval of the LTP.
