The FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company requests renewal of the Quality Assurance Program for Radioactive Material Packages, Docket Number 71-0541, pursuant to 10 CFR 71.17(b).
The Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) Quality Assurance (QA) program was submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) as Chapter 17 of the PNPP Final Safety Analysis Report under Dockets Numbers 50-440 and 50-441. NRC approval of the program was provided in the PNPP Safety Evaluation Report (NUREG-0887). Modifications to this program have been processed in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a) and have been, as appropriate, incorporated into the PNPP Updated Final Safety Analysis Report and submitted to the NRC in accordance with 10 CFR 50.71(e). This program is also applied to the packaging and transportation of radioactive materials. Therefore, the requirements of 10 CFR 71.17(b) have been satisfied.
