Bates, Acting Secretary REQUEST FOR HEARING SUBMITTED BY THE NORTH AMERICAN WATER OFFICE Attached is a request for hearing submitted by the North American Water Office (NAWO) on July 9, 2005. The request for hearing was submitted by e-mail. The Office of the Secretary has not as yet received a paper copy of the request. The NAWO submitted its hearing request in response to a "Notice of Opportunity for Hearing Regarding the Renewal of Facility Operating License No. DPR-22 for an Additional 20-year period" for the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (Docket No. 50-263). The notice of acceptance for docketing of the application was published in the Federal Register at 70 Fed. Reg.
251 17 (May 12,2005).
Also attached are oppositions to the hearing request filed on August 3, 2005, by the licensee and the NRC staff. The request for hearing and the oppositions thereto are being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with1 0 C. F. R §2.346(i).
