KEWAUNEE POWER STATION WITHDRAWAL OF LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST 204 TO THE KEWAUNEE POWER STATION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS REGARDING EXTEND REACTOR TRIP SYSTEM AND ENGINEERED SAFETY FEATURES ACTUATION SYSTEM SURVEILLANCE TEST INTERVALS AS EVALUATED IN WCAP-15376-P-A In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90, Kewaunee Power Station submitted a license amendment request to the Technical Specifications (TS) for the Kewaunee Power Station, as described in a letter to the NRC, "License Amendment Request 204 to the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant Technical Specifications: Extend Reactor Trip System and Engineered Safety Features Actuation System Surveillance Test Intervals as Evaluated in WCAP-1 5376-P-A," dated June 1, 2004.

The license amendment requested changes to the TS, which would have added a definition of "staggered test basis," increased the surveillance testing interval for the Reactor Protection System and Engineered Safety Features Actuation System, and increased the allowed outage time for the reactor trip breakers to 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> to allow additional time to complete test and maintenance activities. Upon further evaluation of the submittal, Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) has decided to withdraw this license amendment request. DEK may decide to pursue this change in the future.
