Steam Dryer Audits at GE San Jose and DC Offices Ronda, I just talked to Tom Scarbrough and got some clarification on the details of the steam dryer audits EMEB would like to perform. The info is as follows:

1) Audit at GE's San Jose office: The purpose would be to see the VY steam dryer model including a test run. The staff would like to look at data from either that test run or previous test runs. Tom said Dan Summerville of GE set up something similar for us in August 2004 for Quad Cities. This would be a one day audit and the attendees would likely be John Wu and our contractor Dr. Samir Ziada. The timeframe on this is flexible. We understand that you are looking into the current status of the model (i.e., possibility that it is disassembled in preparation for moving to a new location) and that there may be concerns since Dr. Ziada is not a US citizen.

2) Audit at GE's DC office: The purpose would be to look at the background information/data which was used as a basis in preparing the RAI responses that are scheduled to be submitted by 8/1/05. This audit will likely involve several NRC headquarters staff members and all our contractors. We would like to perform the audit the week of 8/15. The audit would likely take 3 to 4 days.
