SCREENING OF THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH REACTOR (OSURR) EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN (TAC MC5122)
On November 9, 2004, William A. Baeslack III, Dean, College of Engineering, Ohio State University, submitted revisions to the OSURR Emergency Preparedness Plan under 10 CFR 50.54(q). In the letter, the licensee stated that the changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the plan.
Our review has determined that these changes are in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q) and do not decrease the effectiveness of the emergency plan.
Our staff was also requested to review the OSURR Emergency Preparedness Plan against the guidance in NUREG-0849 and applicable regulations as part of the license renewal process.
We reviewed the OSURR Emergency Preparedness Plan against the following and have determined that the OSURR Emergency Preparedness Plan is in accordance with the following guidance and regulations:
NUREG-0849, Standard Review Plan for the Review and Evaluation of Emergency Plans for Research and Test Reactors Regulatory Guide 2.6, Emergency Planning for Research and Test Reactors ANSI-15.16, Emergency Planning for Research Reactors NRC Information Notice 97-34, Deficiencies in Licensee Submittals Regarding Terminology for Radiological Emergency Action Levels in Accordance With the New Part 20 This completes our review of this revision to the emergency plan and closes this TAC number.
