SUMMARY

OF MEETING WITH NEBRASKA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT REGARDING COOPER NUCLEAR STATION

Dear Mr. Edington:

This refers to the meeting conducted in the Region IV office on July 13, 2005. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Nebraska Public Power District's denial of a noncited violation documented in NRC Inspection Report 05000298/2005002, dated April 29, 2005. This noncited violation resulted from the failure, by plant personnel, to implement the emergency plan procedures during a fire in the multipurpose facility on March 14, 2005.

The NRC staff will consider the information provided during the public meeting and will document our response in a letter to the Nebraska Public Power District. The meeting attendance list and a copy of the Nebraska Public Power District's presentation material are included as Enclosures 1 and 2.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
