DPO Panel Status You appointed me to chair a panel on heavy loads issues raised by Ross Landsman. The purpose of this e-mail is to inform you of the status of the review.
Foremost, let me inform you that I find none of the issues raised by Ross Landman are risk or safety significant. Rather they are compliance issues. The panel will confirm that the issues are valid as such.
While the panel has performed it's fact finding, NRR has been reviewing these same issues under a TIA with Region 3. There has been a part 21 filed by the crane trolley manufacturer which substantiates one of Mr Lansman's concems. RES has been addressing heavy loads as Generic Issue 186.
I have periodically kept Mr Landsman informed of our progress. The panel met with him for over a day.
Other work has prevented me from dedicating the time to wrap this up sooner. The panel will be meeting later this month to produce the final report.
