I would like to personally invite you and other members of your organization to attend a meeting between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC, in which the NRC staff will discuss with AmerGen our annual assessment of the safety performance of Three Mile Island (TMI), Unit 1, Nuclear Power Station.
The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the Middletown Borough Hall, 60 West Emaus Street, Middletown, PA. At the meeting we will briefly discuss our Reactor Oversight Process and then discuss with AmerGen our assessment of their safety performance at TMI, Unit 1, and their response to our assessment. The meeting is open to the public for observation. Following the presentation, the NRC staff will be available to answer questions from you and members of the public regarding the safety performance of TMI and the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations. The NRC recently completed its annual assessment of the safety performance of TMI, Unit 1, in accordance with the NRC Reactor Oversight Process. Our assessment used the most recent performance indicator data and inspection findings from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004. We described our assessment results in a letter to AmerGen on March 2, 2005. A copy of that letter is enclosed along with the NRCs meeting notice with attached meeting agenda.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the Middletown Borough Hall, 60 West Emaus Street, Middletown, PA. At the meeting we will briefly discuss our Reactor Oversight Process and then discuss with AmerGen our assessment of their safety performance at TMI, Unit 1, and their response to our assessment. The meeting is open to the public for observation. Following the presentation, the NRC staff will be available to answer questions from you and members of the public regarding the safety performance of TMI and the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations. The NRC recently completed its annual assessment of the safety performance of TMI, Unit 1, in accordance with the NRC Reactor Oversight Process. Our assessment used the most recent performance indicator data and inspection findings from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004. We described our assessment results in a letter to AmerGen on March 2, 2005. A copy of that letter is enclosed along with the NRCs meeting notice with attached meeting agenda.
