During the Installation of the SIG nozzle dams for the U1R28 refueling outage, the dose received (4375 mrem) exceeded the estimate from Ihe pre-job ALARA review (2440 mrem).

There were several contnbuting factors which caused the dose for this job to exceed the estimate. These factors Include but are not limited to: 1. Problems with use of bubble hood respirators, 2. Difficulties with Installation of the nozzle dams which caused extra lumps and more time spent on the platform than that expected (based on unit 2). 3. Removal and reinstallation of A S/G Hotleg nozzle dam due to not having an RCS vent path,:4. Delays caused by the need for additional personnel to perform Jumps, 5. Lack of a proper jum platform for the A S/G lumps.
The amount of extra dose received due to factor #3 was approximately 900 mrem.
e amount of extra dose due to factors #1, 2. 4, and 5 collectively totals the remainder (1'035 mrem).
