Questions for today's followup story on Millstone 2 malfunctions The valve:
What is the maintenance record on the valve that stuck open? When last inspected/replaced/repaired, etc.?
How many other such valves are there at M3? Do they all now have to be inspected? What does that involve?
Are there generic issues which will require similar valves at M2 to be inspected before it is returned to service?
What were the contingency plans if the valve had stuck is the closed position?
Computer monitoring and lack of steam pressure:
Any industry history that suggests what we may be looking at here? Are there obvious areas that will have to be looked at?
What type of computer is used to monitor low pressure and if it malfunctioned is there a risk of other monitoring systems malfunctioning? Is the computer monitor independent of or intertwined with other systems? What will you do to address that and how long could a review of monitoring systems take?
What is the maintenance record/last repairs of the computer monitoring system?
Is there any history of this sort of thing at Millstone 3 itself?
Any potential breach between the steam generator system and the cooling system? What type and severity?
