NOTICE OF EXPIRATION OF HIGHWAY ROUTE TO TRANSPORT SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL FROM ANN ARBOR, MI, TO AIKEN, SC (NRC ROUTE NO. 196)
Dear Mr. Becker:
I am writing to inform you that U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Route No. 196 will expire on May 29, 2005. This approved route is for the transportation of spent nuclear fuel by highway from the University of Michigans For Nuclear Reactor, to the U.S. Department of Energys Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. Transporting spent nuclear fuel utilizing this route will no longer be approved after the expiration date stated above without a route approval renewal.
If you allow the current route approved to expire but intend to use this route in the future, please submit a request to renew the route approval at least 90 days before you intend to use the route. In submitting your request, please verify that all contact information is correct and up-to-date. Upon request, a standard format and content guide can be provided for use in submitting your renewal request.
