SUMMARY
OF THE APRIL 21, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE D.C. COOK END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On April 21, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Lake Charter Township Hall in Bridgman, Michigan. The meeting was between NRC Region III Management and Indiana Michigan Power Company representatives to discuss the NRCs End-of-Cycle Assessment of licensee performance. The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML050950381 and ML051260391 respectfully. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure.
The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the Reactor Oversight Process and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs End-of-Cycle assessment of D.C. Cooks performance for calendar year 2004, which is documented in the March 2, 2005, End-of-Cycle assessment letter.
The licensees presentation responded to the NRCs assessment documented in the March 2, 2005, End-of-Cycle letter, and specifically addressed their commitment to improve performance and continue to operate Cook Nuclear Plant in a manner that preserves public health and safety. The licensees presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML051260367.
