re: New Reactor at Clinton As a citizen of Illinois, I wish to express my feelings on granting a permit for a new reactor at Clinton, Illinois. Because of environmental, health, and safety issues I am against it. Also nuclear power relies much too heavily on taxpayer subsidies for construction; and in our current economy, there simply is no money for it. Additionally, the safe disposition of nuclear waste has not been resolved, particularly in light of the new questions raised about Yucca Mountain. It's time to pursue alternate forms of energy and divert our attention to that goal.
