Re: Point Beach--CRDM inspection Briefing I'm not sure Andrea can support reviewing both the relaxation request and the repair overlap relief request, but you should ask her, especially since she says she hasn't received the relaxation request yet.
Tim is familiar with the overlap issue, and therefore, may be better-suited to complete an SE on short turnaround.

The submittal that we received today only addresses the repair overlap issue for the repair of nozzle 26.
The issue with the repair calculations is the use of MRP-55 crack growth of base metal alloy 600 for the crack growth calculations in the alloy 52/152 weld repair.
We have not received the licensee's relaxation requests.

- Bill, Today at noon, Rich Barrett, Rags, Bill Koo, and I briefed Brian Sheron regrading the CRDM inspection issue at Point Beach. Brian asked for this briefing because CEO of Point Beach complained to the Chairman.
We briefed Brian about the 5 issues that we talked about in the teleconference call with Region IlIl yesterday. Brian's take on nozzle 26 was that the licensee needs to tell us why PT detected a flaw where the UT did not.
Brian and Rags will call Region IlIl around 2:30 PM today and then they will call the licensee. Bill Koo and I will be on standby in case Rags needs our support.
The licensee emailed the relaxation package this morning and Andrea Keim is reviewing the package.
