Too ofen in our distated Founty we only act aer the fecL We ac not great at ntcipating problems. This is often seen in the aviation business and now we see It in our battle with terrorism.

Do we necd to wait for peoplo to "storm the cockpit" of a nucle=r fciliry bcfore wc act? . .t I havc nUt been an ani nuclear ac"vist But as a resident ofNew York I think t is i criminally mnd morally negligent (and feIel ta Is an iudestatemant) to no: have the military guarding the Indian Point suclear reactor. I Septcmbe II taught us anything it is ANYTHNG is possible. We can't hope our aenity problens ewey we must ACt We have, I read, about 100 nuclear reactors In this cow-by we must protect the= at all costs.

We also must wind dowvthe nuclear indust*y. Put billions nto s track fuelcell energy distibution so we can fre ourselves toi awikt power. Yes, this will bc dvatating to te nuclcar business but it will create ajiggernaut of another business and It is In all our Interests.
