ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF REQUEST FOR EXEMPTIONS FROM RECORD KEEPING REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR 50 FOR THE HADDAM NECK PLANT

Dear Mr. Norton:

The NRC staff has received your application for exemption dated February 16, 2005, CY 025, for the Haddam Neck Plant. Your letter requests exemption from 10 CFR 50 Appendix A Criterion 1 and 10, Appendix B Criterion XVII, and 10 CFR 50.59(d)(3).

We have completed the initial processing, which is an administrative review, and have accepted your request for a more detailed technical review. The more detailed technical review may identify omissions in the submitted information or technical issues that will result in a Request for Additional Information (RAI). If required, these will be forwarded to you under separate cover. The staff expects to complete its review by August, 2005. This schedule assumes no RAIs are required.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs Agencywide Document Access Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site:
