SUMMARY

OF PUBLIC MEETING WITH NEBRASKA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT REGARDING COOPER NUCLEAR STATION'S SIMULATOR FIDELITY ISSUES

Dear Mr. Edington:

This refers to the meeting conducted in the Region IV office on February 24, 2005. This meeting was related to Cooper Nuclear Station's simulator fidelity issues. At the meeting, Nebraska Public Power District management representatives provided a presentation covering simulator testing and work management, training in the simulator, an operations perspective, and their plan for going forward. The presentation focused on several issues that arose from the Operator Licensing Requalification Inspection conducted in November, 2004. The attendance list and the Nebraska Public Power District's presentation slides are enclosed.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at httl)://w.nrc.gov/readinq-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
