SUMMARY

OF MARCH 2, 2005, MEETING WITH CONSTELLATION ENERGY REGARDING PROPOSED PARTIAL SITE RELEASE (TAC NO. MC5815)

On March 2, 2005, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of the licensee for the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (Ginna) at the Ginna Training Center in Ontario, New York. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information with the NRC regarding a proposed application to release a portion of the Ginna site for unrestricted use. Representatives of the NRC, Constellation, the New York Public Service Commission (NYPSC), and the intended buyer of the land were in attendance.

A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1.

The licensee presented information (see Enclosure 2) that included: a description of the land under consideration, the regulations involved, the preliminary results of the licensees evaluation, and the applicable regulations of the NYPSC. The licensee, the NRC, and the NYPSC discussed a proposed schedule for completing necessary reviews.

Members of the public were in attendance and provided comments regarding the proposed land transfer. Public meeting feedback forms were not received.
