Monthly Operating Report for January 2005 Attached is the monthly operating report for Limerick Units 1 and 2 for the month of January 2005 forwarded pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.6 and the guidance of NRC Generic Letter 97-02. The attached monthly operating report data has also been entered into the INPO Consolidated Database for the month of January 2005 for Units 1 and 2.

SUMMARY

Unit 1 began the month of January 2005 at 99.3% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On January 14th at 15:39 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.2% to 98.8% RTP for installation of new feedwater flow coefficients. At 20:05 hours, reactor power was restored to 100% RTP.

On January 20th at 22:46, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% to 99.3% RTP for scram time and channel distortion testing.

On January 21st at 03:26 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.7%.

Unit 1 ended the month of January 2005 at 100% RTP.

SUMMARY

Unit 2 began the month of January 2005 at 100% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On January 6th at 22:37 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.8% to 99.4% RTP for scram time and channel distortion testing.

On January 7th at 05:05 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.8% RTP.

On January 8th at 21:00, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% to 70.8% RTP for MSIV/TSV testing.

On January 10th at 09:40 hours, reactor power was restored to 100% RTP.

On January 25th at 00:01 hours, end-of-cycle coastdown was entered. Throughout the remaining month, unless specified below, when the unit operated at less than 100% RTP, it was due to end-of-cycle coastdown. At 03:43 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.1% to 97.3% RTP for 2A Recirculation M/G Scoop Tube lock reset. At 12:40 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.2% RTP.

On January 27th at 20:43 hours, reactor power was reduced from 98.4% to 82.9% RTP for repairs to the Turbine Control Valve EHC Pressure Switch.

On January 28th at 09:10 hours, reactor power was restored to 98.2% RTP.

Unit 2 ended the month of January 2005 at 97.2% RTP.
