Dear sirs,
As a physician living and working in the Philadelphia area I am acutely aware of the potential dangers of unforeseen problems with nuclear power plants. The cooling towers of the Three Mile Island plant stand as a constant reminder that we must respect the potential major health hazards of nuclear power generation. The least amount of complacency could result in cataclysmic devastation.
I would therefore urge you to support more effective means of protection for our nuclear facilities despite the additional costs of such security upgrades. Specifically, more direct protective approaches to possible small aircraft attacks or other low tech attacks are of utmost Importance at this point. Please support these measures in your continued efforts to protect the health and security of all of us.
