SUMMARY
OF GOVERNMENT-TO-GOVERNMENT MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 16, 2004 On December 16, 2004, a closed meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of local governmental organizations in the communities surrounding the Indian Point Energy Center. Representatives from NRC Region I, the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, the Spent Fuel Project Office, and the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response made brief presentations. The NRCs Director of Communications also attended. In addition, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region II office participated. Selected topics included security and safeguards, emergency preparedness, recent plant performance, and independent spent fuel storage installations. The majority of the meeting was reserved for questions and answers.
