Purpose:
This is a NRC-requested management meeting with PSEG, open to public observation, to discuss the results of the NRCs special inspection into the circumstances surrounding the steam leak that occurred on October 10, 2004.
The meeting will also include a discussion of the issues associated with the B reactor recirculation pump and the exhaust piping for the high pressure coolant injection pump. This meeting with PSEG, which was originally scheduled for January 5, 2005, was delayed to allow adequate time for NRC to complete its review of recently provided information associated with operation of the B reactor recirculation pump.
The NRC intends to release the preliminary findings of the special inspection team and the summary results of the NRCs review of the B reactor recirculation pump and high pressure coolant Injection system issues before the meeting. This meeting will be conducted prior to startup of Hope Creek from the ongoing refueling outage.
