FOR NRR FOLKS - MEETING W/ARKANSAS ON FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM ON July 12 The meeting is a result of the recent NOV/White finding for use of operator manual actions for achieving and maintaining hot S/D conditions in the event of a fire. (As many of you know, this finding was finally issued, after about 3 years of interactions with the licensee, following the June 2001 triennial fire protection inspection.) The licensee's presentation will include the licensee's manual action review project, including their interim compensatory measures and fire protection improvement program.

For NRR folks, I have arranged for us to attend by video-conference with Region IV on July 12, 2004, from 9:30am - 12:30pm EDT (8:30am - 11:30pm CDT), in room 0-364. This will be an important meeting In that Region IV will continue to need our support, especially regarding compliance with any new rulemaking on manual actions, and theses issues may ultimately result in the licensee applying for exemption requests in the future (that NRR would review).
