Extension for Potential Response to Contest NCV

TMI-1 NRC Integrated Inspection Report 2004-04, dated November 8, 2004 The referenced letter documents two NRC identified findings of very low significance (Green). We are considering contesting one of the findings: non-cited violation (NCV) 2004004-02, "Failure to Perform Testing of the Reactor River Water Pumps in Accordance with ASME OM Code." As stated in the cover letter of the referenced letter, a response, with a basis of our denial, should be provided within 30 days of the date of the letter.
Key information associated with our decision to contest this NCV involves the review of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code Inquiry Number OMI-04-05. We expect to receive this information in a few weeks. Per telecom today with Mr. Peter Eselgroth, NRC Region I, an additional 30 days was granted (i.e. total 60 days) for potentially contesting this NCV.
