INTEGRATION AND DEMONSTRATION OF EMERGENCY RESPONSES TO SECURITY EVENTS AT NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS
Dear Mr. Fertel:
Thank you for your letter dated November 29, 2004, which provided the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) Emergency Preparedness and Security Working Group proposal to establish guidelines for the integration and conduct of drills exercising responses to a range of security events.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff welcomes the opportunity to meet with the NEI working group to discuss details of your proposal. There are many areas of agreement provided in the proposal upon which joint success can be achieved and we look forward to addressing these during the meeting. Additionally, there are a few areas that we would like to explore further for clarification.
The requested meeting is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in the One White Flint North Building, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. in Conference Room O-17B4.
