SUBJECT:
INTERNATIONAL TIME ZONE CHART FOR OPERATING NUCLEAR POWER REACTORS Attached please find an updated international time zone chart for operating nuclear power plants. As you may recall, the chart was first created by OIP as part of the NRC's Y2K effort.
Please note that the chart does not reflect daylight savings time changes because they are different from country to country. Additional copies of the chart may be obtained by sending an email request to Clarence Breskovic, cpb@nrc.gov.
Following is a summary of the changes to the chart, which was derived from the IAEA power reactor database for the years 2003 and 2004.
Changes in status of nuclear power plants in 2004 (as of 21 October 2004):
Four new nuclear power plants were connected to the electricity grid:
Qinshan 2-2, a 610 MW(e) PWR in China Hamaoka 5, a 1325 MW(e) ABWR in Japan Khmelnitski 2, a 950 MW(e) WWER in Ukraine Rovno 4, a 950 MW(e) WWER in Ukraine Four plants were shutdown:
Chapelcross A, B, C, D units, a 50 MW(e)/each GCR in the United Kingdom Changes in status of nuclear power plants in 2003:
Two new nuclear power plants were connected to the electricity grid:
Qinshan 3-2, a 665 MW(e) PHWR in China Ulchin 5, a 960 MW(e) PWR in Republic of Korea CONTACT: C. Breskovic, 415-2364
The Commissioners Six plants were shutdown:
Germany: Stade (KKS), PWR, 640 MW(e)
United Kingdom: Calder Hall A, B, C, D units, GCR, 50 MW(e)/each Japan: Fugen ATR, HWLWR, 148 MW(e)
