The changes made to the SQN Air Permit by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau were effective October 21, 2004.

ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT CHANGES IN PERMITS AND CERTIFICATIONS SPECIAL REPORT Summary of Sequoyah Air Permit Changes

1. Federally Enforceable Initial Certificate of Operation No. 4150-20200102-11C and Installation Permit No. 4150-20200102-11I
a. Effective date of revision October 21, 2004.
b. Summary of changes include:
i. Deletion of security lighting generator, computer system generator, fire protection water pump engine, communications system generator, and blackout diesel fire pump engine; ii. Addition of blackout diesel generators 1 and 2, in addition to already permitted emergency diesel generators 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B; iii. Increase in sulfur content of the diesel fuel that is burned in the generators from 0.05 to 0.06 percent by weight; iv. Decrease in emissions of permitted equipment from 76.0 to 70.992 tons of nitrogen oxides during any period of 365 days;
v. Decrease in operation time of permitted equipment from 248 to 204 hours0.00236 days <br />0.0567 hours <br />3.373016e-4 weeks <br />7.7622e-5 months <br /> during any period of 365 consecutive days; and vi. Addition of maximum allowable emissions of nitrogen oxides, emissions of particulate matter and visible emissions for blackout diesel generators 1 and 2.

b. Summary of changes include:
i. Increase in sulfur content of the diesel fuel that is burned in the two boilers from 0.05 to 0.06 percent by weight; ii. Decrease in frequency from quarterly to semiannually for submission of reports that consist of records of fuel supplier certifications to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau Director; iii. Decrease in maximum allowable emissions of nitrogen oxides from each of the two boilers from 11.0 to 9.0 pounds/hour; and iv. Decrease in the sum of the total amount of time during which Boiler A is in operation and the total amount of time during which Boiler B is in operation from 4,000 to 2,000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br /> during any period of 365 consecutive days.
