ISSUANCE OF ORDERS MODIFYING LICENSES FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY COMPENSATORY MEASURES AND FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF ADDITIONAL SECURITY MEASURES ASSOCIATED WITH ACCESS AUTHORIZATION This is to inform the Commission that Immediately Effective Orders will be issued on November 9, 2004, to the Quad Cities and Fort Calhoun Stations. These 10 CFR Part 50 licensees have identified near-term plans to store dry spent fuel in independent spent fuel storage installations (ISFSI) under the general license provisions of 10 CFR Part 72, and the Immediately Effective Orders will modify the general licenses for the proposed ISFSIs to require both compliance with specified interim safeguards and security compensatory measures and the additional security measures associated with access authorization.
Communications with internal and external stakeholders regarding the content and issuance of the Orders is being accomplished as described in the NMSS Communication Plan.
