OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JULY 13, 2004, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND THE EXELON GENERATION COMPANY REGARDING THE RESOLUTION OF OPEN ITEM 3.5.2.3.2-1 AND CONFIRMATORY ITEM 3.0.3.14.2-1 On July 13, 2004, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff (the staff) and representatives from Exelon Generation Company held a telephone conference call to discuss the resolution of Open Item 3.5.2.3.2-1 and Confirmatory Item 3.0.3.14.2-1. provides a listing of the telephone conference call participants. Enclosure 2 contains a listing of the Open Item 3.5.2.3.2-1 and Confirmatory Item 3.0.3.14.2-1. The applicant has had an opportunity to review this summary.

In its letter dated June 22, 2004, the applicant revised Section B.1.30 of the LRA to include an enhancement to provide a VT-3 visual inspection of 15% of the non-exempt Class MC pipe supports once every 10 years. The staff found this acceptable. The applicant agreed to revise SER Appendix A, Item 30, Structures Monitoring Program, to read Existing program is credited. The program will be enhanced to add the following, which will be implemented prior to the period of extended operation:
The staff and applicant agreed that implemented in the revision means that the supports will be inspected prior to the period of extended operation. The staffs understanding will be documented in the SER.
Confirmatory Item 3.0.3.14.2-1 The staff and applicant agreed that Bullet (3) of SER Appendix A, Item 30, Structures Monitoring Program, would be revised to clarify that standard components (e.g., snubbers, struts, and spring cans) will be inspected as part of the Structures Monitoring Program.
