SUMMARY

The Unit began the report period operating at a nominal value of 100% output.- On 9/9/04 at 0757 hours0.00876 days
0.21 hours
0.00125 weeks
2.880385e-4 months
, --

the Unit reduced output by approximately 2% in order to gain extra margin as a conservative measure in order to prevent a possible Turbine runback or plant trip during the planned calibration of Loops 2 and 3 Delta-T/Tavg with Loop 1 experiencing fluctuations high. Following completion of the calibrations, the Unit was returned to full power at 0657 hours0.0076 days
0.183 hours
0.00109 weeks
2.499885e-4 months
on 9/10/04. The Unit continued to operated at a nominal value of 100% output until 0928 hours0.0107 days
0.258 hours
0.00153 weeks
3.53104e-4 months
on 9/24/04 when 2% load reduction was begun in order to lower Reactor power. Just prior to this, a level transient associated with the "B1 1 st Point Heater caused the isolation of extraction steam to the 2nd Point Heaters and a subsequent drop in feedwater temperature resulting in a Reactor power transient to approximately 100.8% output.

Following an investigation into the cause for the Reactor power transient, the Unit subsequently reduced output to approximately 94% at 2057 hours0.0238 days
0.571 hours
0.0034 weeks
7.826885e-4 months
on 9/24/04 in order to repack the pneumatic actuator for the Train B 1 st Point Heater Normal Level Control Valve. Following completion of repairs to the valve, the Unit commenced to return to full power at 0937 hours0.0108 days
0.26 hours
0.00155 weeks
3.565285e-4 months
on 9/25/04. A nominal value of 100% output was achieved at 1218 hours0.0141 days
0.338 hours
0.00201 weeks
4.63449e-4 months
on 9/25/04. The Unit continued to operate at a nominal value of 100% output for the remainder of the report period.
