-Re: Federal Registrar 5.13.04 Pg. 26624-26625 On behalf of Stora Enso's North American Division, I want to express our company's support of the license extension for the Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant.

Stora Enso in North America employs approximately 4,000 Wisconsin employees and has paper operating facilities in six locations throughout the state.

As one of the prominent consumers of energy, in an energy-intensive industry, we understand the significance of the plant to the energy infrastructure of the state. The Point Beach facility has demonstrated that it can operate in a safe and economical manner for all of its customers. It goes without saying that the operation of its two nuclear units will be a significant benefit to the Wisconsin economy in general, and the paper industry, specifically.

Our company, along with the rest of the industry, has experienced severe challenges over the course of the last several years. We are meeting those challenges here at Stora Enso, investing in infrastructure improvements at virtually all of our facilities. These improvements depend on the energy of facilities such as the Point Beach plant.-It will assist in meeting our needs and help provide for the long-term future of our company. In turn, it will benefit our employees and the communities in which they live.
