SAFETY EVALUATION FOR NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE GUIDANCE REPORT (PROPOSED DOCUMENT NUMBER NEI 04-07), PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR CONTAINMENT SUMP EVALUATION METHODOLOGY
Dear Mr. Pietrangelo:
On May 28, 2004, the Nuclear Energy Institute submitted the final version of PWR Containment Sump Evaluation Methodology (NEI 04-07) to the staff for review, followed by subsequent submittals for a Table of Refinements on July 13, 2004, and Chapter 6, Alternate Evaluation, on July 13, 2004.
Following staff review and supplementation of NEI 04-07, you were provided the resulting safety evaluation (SE) on September 20, 2004 (ADAMS Accession Number ML042640307).
This letter provides notification that you may provide clarification on any factual errors or technical misinterpretations contained in the SE provided they are received by October 1, 2004.
The final SE will be issued after making any necessary changes and will be made publicly available.
To facilitate the staff's review of any technical clarifications, if submitted, please provide a marked-up copy of the draft SE showing proposed changes and provide a summary table of the proposed changes.
