Teleconference with Margaret H. Chernoff (NRC) and VCSNS on August 24, 2004 Stephen A. Byrne to Document Control Desk letter dated August 24, 2004 The NRC issued an Order dated April 29, 2003, Requiring Compliance with Revised Design Basis Threat ("Order EA-03-086" or "Order") and other security related Orders (collectively "Orders") for the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station (VCSNS). This Supplemental Response of South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) to Order EA-03-086 supplements the previous response dated April 29, 2004, that SCE&G filed pursuant to 10 CFR § 50.4 and Section III, Conditions A.1, B.1 and B.2.
In accordance with the Order and 10 CFR § 50.4, SCE&G is submitting this Supplemental Response for the above-mentioned facility. This submittal includes revisions to the VCSNS Physical Security Plan, the Contingency Plan, and the Training and Qualification Plan as required by Order EA-03-086.
In addition to this transmittal, this letter serves as notice that the additional options to Compensatory Measures 16.3 and 16.6 have no adverse impact on the protective strategies.
These options were discussed with the office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in a teleconference and submitted in a letter on August 24, 2004.
