The following conditions must be met to place excess letdown in service:

B)

Establish excess letdown:

1.

Ensure EXCESS LTDN LOOP A COLD TO Hx, AOV-310 is closed.

2.

Ensure EXCESS LTDN flow control

valve, HCV-123 is
closed, demand at 0.
3.

Ensure SEAL OR EXCESS LTDN RETURN ISOL VALVE, MOV-313, is open.

4.

Place excess letdown divert

valve, AOV-312, to DIVERT.
5.

Ensure CCW FROM EX LTDN Hx, AOV-745 OPEN.

6.

Open EXCESS LTDN LOOP A COLD TO HX, AOV-310.

7.

Flush approximately 10 gallons to RCDT as follows (3.2 gal/%,

PPCS Point ID LI003).

a.

Slowly open EXCESS LTDN flow control

valve, HCV-123, to maintain excess letdown temperature less than 1950 F and pressure less than 100 psig.
b.

Ensure approximately 10 gallons is flushed to the RCDT.

CAUTION DIVERTING EXCESS LETDOWN TO RCDT WILL RESULT IN CVCS HUT LEVEL INCREASE OF APPROXIMATELY 4% PER HOUR.

c.

IF RCP seal return has been established, THEN place EXCESS LTDN HX DIVERT TO VCT OR RCDT VALVE, AOV-312, to NORMAL.

IF

NOT, THEN leave AOV-312 in DIVERT.
8.

Adjust charging pump speed to control PRZR level and labyrinth seal D/P.
